Chapter 59: Kitchen Hardcore, and the end of an era…

So, ive finally finished my first year of university, and in a few short weeks ill be moving out of a place that holds so many fond memories (i say finally, it fucking zoomed by!)

The old girl (my kitchen) needed a proper send-off, and what better way to that than by pissing off ‘the man’ by having a punk hardcore show in it! Many thanks to many people who helped orginize shit, mainly Dave for hooking me up with a backline, the anonomous donator of a micraphone, the bitch upstairs who called the police, the bands who played and everyone who came and put up with shit music they dont like.

The lineup was our good friends in MAN HANDS and SKY:LARK, along with my very own band CRY WOLF. Needless to say, all the bands played brilliantly, and especially good considering they were playing in a room hotter than the sun! The counters and sinks got put to good use as diving boards, push pits galore, and many sweaty men getting punk. THIS IS HOW ALL SHOWS SHOULD BE! After some shitty threats from wardens, we carried on and fucked the place up good. Good friends, good times, YES!

The cleanup was easy, mainly due to the fact that Ben brought back some random woman who mopped, wasked up, and binned all the shit, leaving me with a spotless kitchen! Who ever you are, cheers!

Im fully going to miss living in halls. Sure there are some dicks about, but on the whole, everyone here is so nice, its just one big community of party animals, who will now all be split up over the rest of shitty medway. I only hope that the person who lives in this room next year discovers all the shit ive done, and lives up to the legend that this flat has given itself.

Back to folkestone for summer will be shit, but bring on CT, Thanet, and all the good shows ill be going to!
